Melamine Resin Particles – High Density and Refractive Index
Melamine resin is a synonymous for high mechanical, thermal and chemical stability. Introduced by microParticles GmbH as a new and versatile product family in the late 1990’s, melamine resin spheres are prepared by an acid-catalyzed polycondensation process in aqueous solution using selected precursors. Our particles combine high monodispersity (CV < 5 %), spherical form, high optical transparency and smooth surface morphology. Further favorable properties are:
- high solvent stability
- hydrophilic surface properties
- high refractive index (1,68)
- high density (1,51 g/cm3).
Applications:
- used in template synthesis, dusty plasma research, and optical material development.
- high refractive index and density make them suitable for advanced photonic and structural applications.
