Melamine Resin Particles

The main characteristics of Melamine Resin Particles consist of:

    • Mechanical, thermal, and particularly high chemical stability against organic solvents,
    • isoelectric point at pH value of 5.1 (this means their surface charge varies with pH),
    • high refractive index (1.68),
    • high density (1.51 g/cm³).
PS Particles

Our polystyrene particles are available in non-cross-linked and cross-linked forms. We can offer them in a wide range of different diameters. With more than 100 size options ranging from 100 nm to 300 µm, they are ideal for customer-specific research requirements. Polystyrene microparticles are characterized by their:

    • High monodispersity (as you can see in the Product category “Certified Calibration Standard”),
    • a wide range of modifications like functional groups on the surface, fluorescence or paramagnetism,
    • hydrophobic behavior,
    • relatively low density (1.05 g/cm³).
PMMA Particles

Our poly (methyl methacrylate) particles are available in non-cross-linked and cross-linked variants. We can offer them in a wide range of different diameters. They are available from us in a range from 100 nm to 200 µm. PMMA microparticles are characterized by their:

    • biocompatibility
    • A wide range of modification like functional groups on the surface and fluorescence
    • low autofluorescence
Silica Particles

Due to their properties, silica particles are ideal for biomedical applications such as drug delivery and biosensor technology. Our silica microparticles are characterized by the following properties:

    • chemical inert and non-toxic
    • Hydrophilic,
    • mechanical, thermal, and particularly high chemical stability against organic solvents,
    • High density (1.85 g/cm³)
    • low refractive index (1.42)
Paramagnetic Microspheres
Fluororange microspheres
Hydrogel microspheres

Particle Modification

We offer a wide range of particle modifications for a variety of applications.

Paramagnetic Particles

We offer particle modifications, such as superparamagnetic particles based on:

  • Magnetic Silica Particles
  • Magnetic Silica-Hybrid Particles
  • Magnetic Polystyrene Particles
  • Magnetic Acrylate Particles

All systems can be provided with a matrix core or a magnetized shell. In addition, we offer a special process in which the particle matrix contains homogeneously distributed nanoscale iron oxide particles. All variants can also be labeled with fluorescence or the particle surface can be functionalized.

Activated Polymer Particles

We also provide functionalized polymer particles for applications in medical diagnostics, pharmacy, biotechnology, molecular biology, and analytics. Available functional groups include carboxyl (-COOH), amino (-NH2) and Strepatavidin (-SA). Custom modifications (e.g., sulfonic acid, maleimide, epoxy, hydroxyl (-OH)) are available on request.

Fluorescence labeled Particles

We offer a wide range of fluorescent Nano- and Microspheres with adjustable size, matrix composition, fluorochrome type, emission intensity, and surface functionality. The selected dyes cover almost the entire spectral range from 300 nm to 800 nm.

Hydrogel Particles

We also offer hydrogel particles, which are water-rich polymer-based microspheres with high biocompatibility and customizable properties. Thanks to their ability to swell in aqueous environments and their high elasticity, they are ideal for applications in drug delivery, diagnostics, and regenerative medicine. At microParticles GmbH, we offer customizable hydrogel particles with controlled size, fluorescence or paramagnetic properties, anionic or cationic surface charges.
